dashboardSMASHBOARD for Google Analytics connects via Google Sign-In. No API key required — your Google account is both your identity and your data access.
- Go to app.dashboardsmashboard.com.
- Click Sign in with Google.
- Choose the Google account that has access to your GA4 property.
- Review the requested permissions and click Allow.
dashboardSMASHBOARD requests read-only access to your Google Analytics data (analytics.readonly). It never modifies your GA4 data or settings.
Select your property
After signing in, you'll be prompted to choose a GA4 property. dashboardSMASHBOARD validates that your Google account has access to the property before saving your selection.
Enter your GA4 Property ID (a numeric ID found in GA4 under Admin → Property Settings) or select from the list of properties your account can access.
Free tier limit
The Free plan supports one GA4 property. If you need to track multiple properties, upgrade to Pro (3 properties).
Set your opening goals
After selecting a property, dashboardSMASHBOARD walks you through a brief goal-setup step. You'll configure the target thresholds for the seven default goal cards that appear on your first dashboard:
| Card | What you set |
|---|---|
| Sessions Growth Goal | Target growth percentage vs. previous month |
| Active Users | Target growth percentage vs. previous year |
| Monthly New Users Goal | Target new user count for this month |
| Bounce Rate | Target reduction percentage vs. previous month |
| Engagement Rate Goal | Minimum engagement rate percentage |
| Key Event Rate Goal | Minimum key event (conversion) rate percentage |
| Pageviews Trend | No goal threshold — trend display only |
You can change any of these thresholds at any time from the card's Edit menu.
Data freshness
GA4 data has an inherent processing lag. Intraday data typically finalises within 24–48 hours — numbers for "today" will continue to revise until the day closes. dashboardSMASHBOARD displays data as GA4 reports it.
- Free plan: data refreshes every 24 hours
- Pro plan: data refreshes every 15 minutes
Reconnecting after access revocation
If you revoke dashboardSMASHBOARD's access from your Google Account settings, or if your Google token expires, dashboardSMASHBOARD will prompt you to sign in again. Your dashboard configuration and goal thresholds are preserved — only the access token needs to be refreshed.
To reconnect, click Reconnect Google from the banner shown on your dashboard, or sign out and sign back in.
Google OAuth verification note
The analytics.readonly scope is classified by Google as a sensitive scope, which means Google reviews apps before they can be used by accounts outside the developer's testing list.
During the dashboardSMASHBOARD early access period, the app operates in Testing mode. If your Google account is on the allowlist, sign-in works normally. If you see a "This app is not verified" warning screen, click Advanced → Go to dashboardSMASHBOARD (unsafe) to proceed — this warning appears for all apps that have not yet completed Google's verification review, and does not indicate a security problem.
Google verification is in progress. Once approved, the warning will no longer appear.
