Creating Dashboards
~4 min readA dashboard is a named collection of cards — the goal widgets that track your most important metrics. You can have as many dashboards as you like.
Creating Your First Dashboard
After installing, dashboardSMASHBOARD automatically creates four pre-built dashboards so you have a working setup from day one — no configuration required. The Daily Pulse dashboard opens by default.
| Dashboard | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Daily Pulse ⚡ | Live snapshot of today vs. a normal day — revenue, orders, AOV, and traffic (6 cards) |
| Growth Tracker 📈 | 30-day rolling growth view with benchmarked goals for revenue, orders, AOV, items, and sessions (6 cards) |
| Operations Health 🔧 | Inventory alerts, top sellers by week, items sold trend, and order decline detection (4 cards) |
| Year-Over-Year 📅 | This period vs. the same period last year — requires 12+ months of store history (4 cards) |
All pre-built dashboards use relative goals (e.g. +5%, +10%) so they work for any store size without configuration. Every card can be edited, and you can add, remove, or reorder them at any time.
Creating Additional Dashboards
- From the dashboardSMASHBOARD home screen, click + Create Dashboard (top right).
- Give it a name. Be specific — “Q2 Revenue Goals” beats “Dashboard 1”.
- Optionally add a description. This appears as a subtitle on the dashboard view.
- Click Create Dashboard. Your dashboard opens, ready for cards.
Naming Conventions That Work
Dashboards are most useful when their name tells you exactly what question they answer:
- Monthly Revenue Targets — tracks revenue goals against monthly targets
- New Customer Acquisition — focused on customer-level metrics
- Black Friday 2026 — time-boxed campaign dashboard
- Daily Check-in — quick morning snapshot (orders, revenue, sessions)
Navigating Dashboards
All your dashboards appear on the home screen. Click any dashboard name to open it. The dashboard updates automatically with live data from your store.
Managing Dashboards
Renaming a dashboard
Click the Edit button (pencil icon) on a dashboard to open settings. Update the name and save.
Duplicating a dashboard
Open the dashboard menu (⋯) and select Duplicate. All card configurations are copied — rename it immediately so you know which is which.
Deleting a dashboard
Open the dashboard menu (⋯) and select Delete. This permanently removes the dashboard and all its cards. There is no undo.
Dashboard Limits
All dashboards and cards are unlimited on both plans. See Billing FAQ for full plan details.
